How Carpeet works

Design story

The Arch

Soft arches drawn by hand, inspired by doorways in old Mediterranean houses. The pattern breaks up the floor, so fur, crumbs and wear stay invisible between washes.

Each colorway has its own photos and page.

How it's made

Drawn by hand, woven tight

Each arch starts as a pencil sketch, then becomes a flat, tight weave with no loops for claws to catch. The top layer is solution-dyed, so colour goes all the way through the fibre.

The pattern

Why arches work on a floor

A rug pattern has a practical job: it decides how much of everyday life you see between washes. The Arch's repeat is small enough to break up crumbs, fur and footprints, and large enough to read as a calm pattern from across the room rather than busy texture.

Because the arches run in rows, they also help a room feel ordered. Laid lengthwise, the rows draw the eye along a living room or hallway; laid across, they make a narrow bedroom feel wider.

Choosing a colourway

Order a swatch kit if you are between two. Colour changes more in your light than on screen.

  1. 01

    Clay

A warm terracotta that hides mud and dog hair in reddish and tan tones. It works with wood floors, cream walls and green plants, and warms up rooms with cool light.

    Terracotta rugs
  2. 02

    Oat

A light, warm neutral for small rooms and pale floors. It makes a room feel larger and suits light-coated dogs and cats.

    Beige rugs
  3. 03

    Espresso

A deep brown that grounds pale wood, white tile and light sofas. It hides spills best of the three and suits dark-coated pets.
